Tough As Nails – Complete Setups from Riviera Skateboards

September 11, 2015 By J. Taylor

Riviera Skateboards

Ever since Riviera Skateboards began making decks and complete setups they quickly built up a name for themselves. They have never compromised one bit on the quality of their skateboards and still manage to keep their prices really affordable. Their boards are super durable and strong, and while some might say they are a bit on the heavy side, if you want a dependable skateboard to thrash that will last you for years then pick up a Riviera. They have some awesome downhill and freeride skaters on their team, like Kody Noble and Amanda Powell, and keep developing new progressive decks year after year. Here are three of the best complete setups available from Riviera Skateboards that you can get your hands on right now, and all of them are under $170!

Buffalo BluntThe Buffalo Blunt

This is Kody Noble’s signature pro model, the Riviera Buffalo Blunt, an awesome freeeride skateboard designed to go fast. Thanks to the HipBone mold, this deck features a whole bunch of innovative design tweaks that really help to keep control of the board at high speeds. It’s a fairly big deck at 9.75” by 40”, and it also has an adjustable wheel base so that you can test out the variables and choose what is best for you. The 8 ply Canadian Maple construction is absolutely solid. Hear what Kody has to say about his skateboard and watch him shredding on it in the next video:

MysticThe Mystic

With the help of Amanda Powell, Riviera Skateboards have spent much time in the research and development lab coming up with new ideas and designs for skateboards that are specifically suited to female skaters. With Powell on the team it wasn’t long before the Riviera Mystic was born, a downhill and freeride skateboard built with a woman’s touch. The deck measures 9” by 39.18”, has a wheel base of 26”, and enjoys the same solid construction as many of Riviera Skateboards, with 8 ply Canadian Maple. Take a look at Amanda’s rad downhill skills in this clip:

Soul PatrolThe Soul Patrol

Riviera Skateboards is based in Costa Mesa, with Newport Beach on its doorstep, so the company has strong ties with surfing, and some of their boards reflect this. Take the Riviera Soul Patrol, a longboard skateboard that is perfect for leisurely cruising and carving the sidewalk. With a classic rounded nose and tail design, the large 9.5” by 46” deck allows riders to cross-step and even nose ride. It comes with 180mm Paris Trucks and 70mm 78a Divine Road Rippers wheels. For an everyday board to ride, whether to the store or to check the surf, the Riviera Soul Patrol fits the bill.

Something for Everyone

Riviera Skateboards has a whole bunch of different setups to choose from, and are always adding new designs to their range. Check out the whole Riviera skateboard range here to see for yourself. Now check out some of the sickest skating from the Riviera Skateboard pro riders in their video ‘Designed, Developed, Destroyed’…
