From being charged in cold gnarly waves like Shipsterns Bluff to getting slotted in the green room at Pipeline, the Odysea Skipper is an all-round shred stick that gets the job done! Guys like Hawaiian pro surfer Jamie O’Brien and Aussie big wave charger Mark Mathews are loving the Catch Surf Odysea Skipper, but why? Here are the answers you’re looking for…

Full of Float

Just like all the Odysea softboards by Catch Surf, the Skipper provides bucket-loads of buoyancy, so when you’re paddling a 6ft board it will feel like a 7ft board. Getting into waves early becomes a piece of cake and the added float means extra stability too.

Shaped to Shred

The smooth fish outline and the swallow tail of the Skipper are more than enough to help it fly down the face when you set your line. Combine this with a speedy quad fin setup and this board is ready to take on seriously big waves. If you’re all about snappy manoeuvres then go for the thruster setup to pull off fast turns and big cutbacks.

Tough as Nails

Softops are renowned for being able to take a beating, much more so than their foam and fibreglass comrades anyway. Well, the Skipper features a stiff dual composite core along with triple maple wood stringers, so you’ll have a real hard time breaking this thing! Riding the shorey straight onto the beach is not big deal either because the HDPE slick bottom is really durable too. Jamie O’Brien has really tested the Skipper to destruction…

Here’s the Proof…

Now for some rock-solid, cold, hard evidence that can’t be denied, the Odysea Skipper being put through its paces in one of the most wave-rich regions on the planet, Indonesia…

If you’re thinking all those perfect waves are a different breed to what you usually surf each day we hear ya, overhead glassy peelers don’t come by nearly often enough for the most of us. So here’s a short flick of the 6 foot Odysea Skipper being taken out at the Wedge when it’s pumping…

Even when the waves look unmakeable all is not lost! From shore-break lumps to close-out lines, the Odysea Skipper will get you slotted into precisely where you want to be…

There you have it, if you want to surf some serious swell with an Odysea softboard then hop aboard a Skipper, your first mate when it comes to fun! Stop stalling and pick up yours now from the DriftingThru Surf Shop. It’ll be the best decision you make all day…
