Keeping it Fresh – OAM Traction & Leashes

October 24, 2016 By J. Taylor

Besides from your surfboard there are a couple of other things you need to be able to rely on in the surf, so OAM traction & leashes have you covered. A grippy tail pad will keep that back foot locked in when you’re pushing all your energy through a turn, and a trusty leash will keep you and your board safe when the inevitable wipeout comes around. You shouldn’t underestimate the value of these two surf accessories. Having gear that you know will perform right when you need it most means more memorable days in the surf.

On A Mission have been in the game for quite some time already, working with pro surfers and amateurs on the road to surfing stardom, tweaking and perfecting their signature line of OAM traction & leashes. To say they have put their heart and soul into creating the best kit possible for surfers is still an understatement. The guys at OAM have dedicated themselves to putting out only the highest quality surf accessories, and they are still finding new ways to better themselves.

The latest range of traction looks sick and performs even better, with their new Animal Grip design leading the way in the world of progressive surf traction. OAM have patented their diamond grip design, which they claim is the best traction technology available on the planet, and who are we to argue with them?

The OAM team riders have put out their own signature traction pads, with Taylor Knox, Michel Bourez, Corey Lopez, Alex Gray, and Brett Barley, all having their pro traction, to name just a few.

Here’s Alex Gray with his signature OAM traction pad…

Even if you don’t go for a pro signature grip pad, there are a bunch of other designs available too. Every traction pad in the new 2016 OAM collection features their Animal Grip, which means you can’t go wrong with any of the new OAM traction.

Now over to the leashes. OAM has been feverishly working away on their Wave Flex Technology for some time now, so we see that added this year. The 2016 OAM leashes range all come with this Wave Flex Technology, which maximises the flex in a leash without affecting the mould strength. Simply put, these leashes are much less likely to break because of the added flex, by absorbing more stress through bending. While no leash is completely perfect, the new OAM leashes come as close as you can get, so if you don’t want to lose your board in big surf get yourself one!

There you have it, just a quick rundown of what to expect from the new 2016 OAM traction & leashes, which are all available from the DriftingThru surf store. And here’s even more good news for you… spend over $99 and you’ll get free shipping!
