18- year old Nyjah Huston has claimed X Games LA gold in men’s Street Skate and holds the No. 1 spot on the SLS Nike SB World Tour. Huston scored a total of 53 points in the final to take the win, including a 9.2 on his final trick, a kickflip backside tailslide. Chris Cole would finish behind him with 44.6 points taking silver, and Luan Oliveira took bronze with 44.2 points.
Goofy-foot skater Huston has international attention as one of the top skateboarders in the world and after securing gold in LA Huston shows no signs of slowing down. Huston won his first SLS Championship back in 2010, came close in 2011 and took back the ring in 2012. The California native won the first three events of 2013 SLS Nike SB World Tour, including X Games Brazil and Barcelona, before suffering a rib injury that kept him from competing at X Games Munich back in June.
The next stop on the SLS Nike SB World Tour will be New Jersey for the Super Crown August 25th. After 11 years this marked the last year X Games will be held in LA, the new host city for 2014 will be Austin, Texas.
