Quite possibly the best longboard company to come out of Canada, Rayne Longboards has been around for over 10 years now. Over the past decade they have tested and tweaked their boards, worked on entirely new design concepts and pioneered foam and fiberglass decks for the ultimate high-speed downhill ride. Rayne Longboards are up there with the best, and have an awesome range of complete setups created specifically for screaming it full speed on downhill runs, sliding and spinning your local hill, and great freeride boards too. Here are our top three offerings from Rayne Longboards that you can pick up in the DriftingThru store and ride straight out of the box.
The Nemesis
A downhill speed demon through and through, the Rayne Nemesis is built for tearing it down slopes and pushing the limits. Its lightweight design helps you to pick up speed quickly and maintain it. The deck is large enough to give sufficient stability but also compact enough for quick turns and fast maneuvers. A versatile setup means you can pump through turns in narrow back lanes or take on high speed lines down empty hill runs. The Rayne Nemesis comes in 39” long, 10” wide, and with an adjustable wheel base of 32” to 33”.
The Catalyst
If you want to swap the speed for slide then consider the Rayne Catalyst, a sliding setup that allows for more technical riding and tricks. The Catalyst is one of Rayne’s oldest designs, and also one of the smallest. It’s a great board for bowls, ramps and parks, with a double kick and plenty of lock-in to let you really throw some weight into your slides. This hybrid board does not disappoint, so if you’re looking for a versatile skateboard try out the Rayne Catalyst. It comes in one size, 32.5” long, 9.375” wide and with a wheel base of 15”.
The Vandal
A super simple longboard that performs just as good for downhill racing as it does for loose freeriding, the Vandal looks as good as it rides. On first release the guys at Rayne thought skaters wouldn’t buy into such a simple skateboard, but years later it’s still loved. Strong and stiff yet still lightweight and fast, it features a Fatbottom construction that helps to keep the weight down while providing some extra wheel clearance. The adjustable wheelbase also gives riders even more options to customize their ride, with choices for a 25.75,” 26.5” or 27.25” wheelbase. The Rayne Vandal is a great compromise between a strictly downhill or strictly freeride board, and measures up at 35.5” long by 10” wide.
